Inevitably, there are now some demo videos of the Microsoft Office 2010 Technical Preview On Youtube. Here is a selection of the better ones (OK, the ones that appeared at the top of the list!). [...more]
OK, I admit it. I installed the leaked Microsoft Office 2010 technical preview. Everyone else was having so much fun, I just couldn't help myself. Damn that torrent - my PC got infected with a virus! [...more]
As predicted, some of the leaked Microsoft Office 2010 torrents have already been identified as being infected. Torrents, and also popular file sharing networks like Rapidshare and MegaUpload, are common targets for unscrupulous individuals who want to spread their malware. Obviously with the spotlight on the recent Office 2010 technical preview leaks, these torrents are especially attractive targets. [...more]
Unbelievably, mere days after the Office 2010 Techncal Preview announcement (see the Microsoft Office 2010 blog) and obligatory leaked screenshots, there is now an Office 2010 torrent! Those naughty tinkers at wzor.net have even published links to the Office 2010 torrent. [...more]
Monday 11th May 2009 saw the birth of the Microsoft Office 2010 Blog. It's being maintained by the Office team to help the general public get a better idea of what's going into Office 2010 (formerly Office 14) and to discuss key issues. On the blog, and also at their annual TechEd event held in the US, Microsoft revealed that attendees will make up the first segment of their limited Technical Preview program. Technical Previews are going to be released in July. [...more]
Get a load of this! I'm presuming that this is a beta version of Excel 2010 (or Excel 14, if you like). I can't see this video staying public for long. But check out what they're doing. A search in Google for KINGSOFT OFFICE 2010 finds their website where they are apparently selling Office 2010. [...more]
There is a swish new tool out there that enables you to work on your Google docs from within Microsoft Office applications. It goes by the name ofOffiSync and is available here:
Download OffiSync

The Outlook 2010 screenshot doesn't look all that inspiring. The feel of the ribbon is very much the same as the ribbon in the Office 2007 applications (although Outlook 2007 wasn't subjected to this UI overhaul). I love the resonses to Outlook 2010 on Lifehacker . Somebody puts forward the theory that Microsoft went bankrupt and the government are now designing the user interface. Harsh. [...more]
Today I read Microsoft Bob Rides Again and found what John C. Dvorak had to say very interesting. He seems to be saying that there will be a reluctance for people to upgrade to Microsoft Office 2010, citing some peoples' aversion to Office 2007 as evidence of this. On the contrary, I think people who forked out for Office 2007 will be less likely to bear the cost of yet another upgrade so soon. Those who avoided Office 2007 will be running antiquated versions of Office by the time Office 2010 hits the streets and may be more inclined to 'catch up'. [...more]
Gosh darn, I knew I took a risk when I used off14 for the name of this site. Office 14 - get it? But they've only gone and pulled the rug out from under me! Read what Paul Thurrott has to say about Microsoft's recent renaming of Office 14 to Office 2010. Well, I say renaming, but Office 14 was never really official, was it? It was more a 'code name'. That link isn't especially about this recent development, it's more general FAQs about Office 14 Office 2010. [...more]
